ON TOP OF THE WORLD

Trekking on the Val Senales Glacier

126, three-thousand-metre peaks that wrap around the glacier like a pearl necklace: The mountain scenery around the Glacier Hotel Grawand offers amazing views and plenty of hiking possibilities. Your glacier holiday in South Tyrol is the perfect opportunity to get off the beaten tourist track and experience some real adventures. You don't necessarily have to be “experienced” because the trekking options in Val Senales are wide-ranging.

ACCOMPANIED BY THE PANORAMA

Would you have known that? Probably the most easily conquerable three-thousand-metre peak in the world is right in front of our hotel in Val Senales. The Grawand peak is now the home of the Iceman Ötzi peak and is worth every 10 minutes you need to get up it. It allows you to see across the sea of peaks to the blue of the Adriatic Sea - and is guaranteed to amaze you.
A chairlift also takes you to the starting point of the glacier circuit in just 10 minutes. The route is flat and safe and therefore also suitable for families.

OVERCOMING LIMITS

Here at the Val Senales Glacier you can literally overcome borders, for example on the panorama ridge of the Graue Wand or on the Ötzi Glacier Tour. You can even make your way down to the glacier lake, whose water flows into the Adriatic Sea. From here you reach the archaeological long-distance trail that leads from the Austrian mountaineering village of Vent to Maso Corto. Every year, a very special spectacle takes place along this trail: the Transhumance. The traditional sheep drive is an intangible UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts scores of visitors every year.
